We asked you to vote for your favourite Running Club of the Year, and you did, in your thousands. Almost 2,500 votes were cast, with the winners gaining an almighty 30.36% of the total vote.
We are thrilled to announce the winners:
3rd Place: Sunderland Strollers
Training, motivating and making a huge difference to over 250 runners on a weekly basis, Sunderland Strollers claimed a respectable third place.
2nd Place: Macclesfield Harriers
Second in the running were the Macclesfield Harriers, who dedicate themselves to raising considerable funds for charitable causes year after year.
1st Place: Stoke F.I.T.
Friendly, encouraging and with a distinct ‘no -pressure’ attitude, the leaders of the Stoke F.I.T. running club are the ones that make it so inspirational. F.I.T. stands for Friends In Training, and that’s exactly what the members here are. The club prides itself on welcoming runners of all abilities, and the results for some are life-changing. The leaders are strong advocates for the power of self-belief, and it’s this philosophy that’s helped them to help others reach their goals with such resounding success.
On their triumph, Frank Murphy of Stoke F.I.T. said, “We’re delighted to have been voted the best, not just by those who run with us, but by those who can see the work we’re doing and the life-changing impact we’re having on the people of Stoke-on-Trent. The equipment that we’ll buy with the help of Decathlon will be instrumental in starting out a children’s running club after Christmas.”
